Frequently Asked Questions
Theology and Audience
What theological tradition or denomination is Vesper Light Post aligned with?
Vesper Light Post takes a deliberately ecumenical and historic approach. We serve orthodox, creedal households across denominations. Rather than binding our work to a single modern church, we draw from the shared, ancient treasury of the historic Western Church, the historic creeds, and classical Christian liturgy.
Why do you begin your journey through church history with early figures like Polycarp?
Polycarp sits at a vital hinge in church history as a direct disciple of the Apostle John. Starting our chronological journey with early witnesses and martyrs anchors our domestic discipleship in the foundational defense of the faith—such as the physical reality of the Incarnation against early heresies—connecting our modern homes to the historic, flesh-and-blood transmission of apostolic truth.
Which prayer books and liturgies do your weekly collect cards draw from?
Our weekly collect cards and prayers are drawn from time-tested treasures of historic Western liturgy, including the 1662 Book of Common Prayer and other classical Christian devotional streams. These texts are chosen because they unite rich, orthodox theology with exquisite linguistic beauty, making them ideal for reading aloud at the family table or during evening prayer.
Is this for children or adults?
Both. Vesper Light Post is designed for the domestic church—meaning the whole household. The reflection letters and theological biographies provide deep, rich meat for adults, while the tangible art, laminated commemoration cards, and weekly collects are highly engaging for children. We create these tools to be used together at the family table.
How does Vesper Light Post fit into a classical or Charlotte Mason home or co-op?
Our mailings are designed for the "domestic church" and classical classroom. By focusing on tactile beauty—such as heavy reflection letters, historic sacred art prints, and durable commemoration cards—we provide a grounding, screen-free touchpoint that integrates seamlessly into Morning Time, family devotions, or historical studies.
Do you offer bulk options for churches, parishes, or homeschool co-ops?
Yes! We offer Parish Editions for both our Lectio and Liturgia tiers. These are specifically designed for rectors, catechists, small group leaders, and homeschool co-op directors who want to place these tangible, liturgical tools directly into the hands of their community members.
Each parish and group order includes a bundled pack of 5 complete sets shipped together to a single address in one monthly package.
It provides a convenient, cost-effective way to equip Sunday school classes, study pods, parish families, or co-op circles while enjoying special bulk savings.
2. Subscription and Shipping
When will my envelope arrive?
Because our mailings are tied to the rhythms of the Church Year, we ship all envelopes on the 20th of each month so that you have your liturgical tools in hand before the new month and new church season begins.
Can I give Vesper Light Post as a gift?
Yes. Equipping another family’s hearth is a beautiful gift. When you select an edition, you will have the option to enter a different shipping address and include a gift note at checkout.
Can I pause or cancel my subscription?
Absolutely. We want these tools to be a blessing to your home, not a burden. You can easily manage your subscription at any time through your customer portal. Cancel at anytime and come back whenever you can.
3. The Contents
What is the difference between the Liturgia and Lectio editions?
The Liturgia Edition is our fully immersive experience. It includes the reflection letter and weekly collect cards, plus beautifully printed historic art, a biography of a figure from church history, a laminated commemoration card, and a monthly surprise. The Lectio Edition is a minimalist alternative that provides only the essential texts: the reflection letter, the weekly collect cards, and our club sticker.
How are we supposed to use the weekly collect cards?
There is no wrong way to use them. Each card features the appointed collect for the week, intended to be prayed during morning or evening prayer. We recommend keeping them tucked in your Bible, placed at the center of your kitchen table, pinning them to a bulletin board, or using them as a bookmark. They serve as a tangible anchor for your household's daily rhythms, guiding your family as you faithfully pray together.
